Easy Thai Tom Yum Recipe
Thai Tom Yum is different than another soup dish. Unlike the other soup dish, Thai Tom Yum is like sour curry but more watery and liquid. Thai Tom Yum has an authentic taste of Thailand. All local and traditional people in Thailand could easily get the ingredients because of they live near the river and live near the farm. The taste of Thai Tom Yum also suitable to eat in cold condition or winter. So, let’s check the recipe!

Ingredients:

·         1000 mili liters of water
·         Four stalks of diagonally chopped lemongrass
·         1 inch of chopped galangal
·         Ten kaffir lime leaves
·         10 Thailand bird chilies
·         Five cloves of chopped garlic
·         ½ kilo shrimp
·         300 grams of oyster mushrooms or shitake mushroom
·         Two big tomatoes
·         Two white medium sized onions
·         Two tsp of sugar
·         8 – 12 tbsp of fish sauce (depending on your taste)
·         8 – 12 tbsp of lime juice (10 – 15 limes)
·         3 tbsp of Thai roasted chili sauce paste (Nam prik pao น้ำพริกเผา)
·         10 tbsp of evaporated milk or thick coconut milk
·         1 cup of cilantro or coriander leafs

Directions:

·         1Boil the water in a large pan. Then add 8 tbsp of lime juice, 10 Thailand bird chilies, four stalks of diagonally chopped lemongrass, 1 inch of chopped galangal, five cloves of chopped garlic and tear ten kaffir lime leaves then put into large pan. Boil 10 minutes straight.
·         2Take ½ kilo shrimp, peel the prawns as you wish. You may cut the head shrimp or not cut it. Then add the shrimp into Thai Tom Yum. After that add the 300 grams of oyster mushrooms or shitake mushroom. Boil for 10 minutes. Add about six tablespoons of fish sauce first, and then two teaspoons of sugar.
·         3Then add about 3 tbsp of Thai roasted chili sauce to your soup and stir it in. Also about ten tablespoons of evaporated milk or coconut. Then mix well untill it is well combined. Finally turn off the heat then add fresh cilantro, then stir well.
·         Your ultimate Thai Tom Yum is ready. You can serve the Thai Tom Yum in a bowl with or without rice, the main cuisine that always uses by people in Thailand.
